Joshua Marc Levy, Asheville based visual artist, has created rock & roll art for the past 20 years. Bands include AC/DC, Grateful Dead, The Black Crowes, Widespread Panic, Dean Ween Group, Guided By Voices, and Modest Mouse to name a few. Local clients include The Broadcast and The Fritz. After 25 years of seeing live shows, Levy has expanded his repertoire to include live photography and writing concert reviews. During the day Levy heads the Asheville Art Family, a full service graphic design company, and at night attends local and regional shows.
Libby Gamble is best known for creating engaging environmental portraits that show off a strong eye for composition and color. One of her strengths is her understanding of how to use environmental information to characterize the personalities of her subjects. Gamble is an award winning, fine art photographer based in Asheville, NC. She studied photography at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she earned a Masters of Fine Arts in 2014. She is a freelance photographer at the Asheville Citizen Times, and she is grateful to bring her combined passion of music, nightlife and photography to a weekly publication called On the Scene. It seems a natural progression to bring it all together into AVL Rock Review.
